Under the supervision of the executive director of CAUS, the Collective Kitchens Project Manager is responsible for the development and proper functioning of collective kitchens. This position aims to promote access to healthy and local food, strengthen community engagement and promote sustainable food practices within the neighborhood.
The main objective of the Collective Kitchens Project Manager will be to involve Verdun residents in the processing and distribution of ready-made meals to continuously supply three distribution points, to lead collective kitchen groups made up of citizens, and to produce and market processed meals.
The tasks related to this function are:
Animation
- Mettre en place et animer trois groupes d’ateliers de cuisine collective avec les citoyen.nes et les organismes partenaires ;
- Produce between 200 and 300 meals per week;
- Develop menus and activities promoting food education;
- Manage collective kitchen logistics (equipment, supplies, registrations);
- Encourage member participation in the activities;
- Actively participate in promoting activities;
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during activities;
- Participate in volunteer selection and training;
- Support volunteers and ensure the smooth running of the activities they lead; and
- Provide personalized follow-up to the volunteers under his/her responsibility.
Gestion
- Evaluate and monitor the collective kitchen animation project budget;
- Recueillir des données et évaluer l’impact des activités sur les participant.es ;
- Actively participate in the implementation of the project action plan;
- Ensure purchasing management, place orders and ensure good inventory management;
- Gérer la prévention des pertes (gaspillages, vols, pertes d’inventaires, bris) ;
- Supervise, coach and motivate your team of volunteers;
- Ensure the training and integration of new volunteers;
- Ensure that the team respects working procedures and methods;
- S’assurer que les normes d’hygiène et salubrité ainsi que les normes de santé et sécurité soient appliquées et respectées de façon uniforme par tout.es les participant.es ;
- Ensures department, displays and work area cleanliness;
- Experiment with new ways of working collectively;
- Represent the organization in consultation forums;
- Actively participate in team meetings; and
- Actively participate in the preparation of the annual report.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in kitchen project management;
- Possess a drivers' license
- Experience in group facilitation and citizen mobilization;
- Experience in budget management and team coordination; and
- Relevant experience (1 to 2 years) in community project management, solidarity food, sales or service in a grocery store, market or similar environment (an asset).

Type of employment : 35 hours per week, two-year contract
Salary: $35,000.00 per year
